Project 2: So Far

Project 2, at this point, is still up in the air.

In order to meet the criteria for the project I have gone about it several ways. We had talked in class about using Google Maps to tell a story. The duck we used in class had an extraordinary journey across, I believe, was Antarctica. I thought about documenting my journey and how I came to be in America.

But then we got talking about sound and movement. Surely a static Google Maps documentation would be quite dull. When recording the poem -- in my amazingly dramatic voice styling -- I thought I might dictate a series of animated "polaroid" snapshots of my journey, rather than Google Mapping.

I am still up in the air about this. Some feedback would be appreciated!

sounds like a plan. Im excited to see how it pans out seeing i'm working on a google map presentation myself. I definitely think you should keep the SPECTACULARRR title, maybe add more 'r's. Looking forward to it!

Google Maps sounds like fun. Why don't you incorporate the duck? I liked the duck. How DID you come to be in America? I don't think this story sounds dull. Just make sure you use your amazingly dramatic voice styling and you'll be fine. You could incorporate your polaroids INTO your Google Mapping and crap..blow some people's minds.

Do everything. All of it. Do it. Do it now.

Sorry there's nothing to look at yet. I did enjoy the earlier Simpsons-style take on the Poe poem. I think an exploration of Duck, WV, and your historical move there, would make an excellent project! Or, as you suggest, the story of a Duck - perhaps stopping in Duck, WV? As far as I know, you can embed anything you want into Google Map markers. Certainly you can embed YouTube videos, so the approach may be to upload the video to YouTube and put the embed codes in the map. This will be a marvelous project, I'm sure.
